Reference Of Events Hosted

This is a list of some clients and their major shows that I have done in recent years to events as far away as March 2007.  I started to DJ in 1989 during weekends and holidays of my undergraduate years.  8 years ago I started hosting events full-time.  The events that I host can be a simple one-man roadshow, playing music and making promotional announcements for the event to a formal Master of Ceremony (MC) on stage.  I do also provide voice-overs (VOs) for events, trailers, fashion shows and advertisements.

Melvyn Vernon

Melvyn is definitely not a newbie to the entertainment arena, having been on stage since young where he sang, danced and acted for the masses. With that same keen passion for all the other performing arts, he has developed an immense desire to entertain and to bring a cheer to the events he attends.

Being actively involved in hosting events since his early school days such as speech day ceremonies, orientation campfire nights, food & fun fairs and other private group parties, Melvyn has developed much interest in sharing the joys of life with the people he meets.

Melvyn has also been instrumental to corporate family days, sporting tournaments, and other corporate events. With the flair in entertaining the masses on stage, he strives to set his guests in a comfortable mood for the experience of great joy.
Apart from being truly talented on stage, this fun and versatile host constantly draws inspiration from his daily life experiences.

DJP Joel

Joel’s distinctively poised and charismatically confident vocal style is familiar to thousands of Singaporeans as the “voice of the news” on national radio. Since 2005, he has been part of a select team of presenters charged with delivering the half-hourly news bulletin for MediaCorp Radio’s English-language stations.

Having been chosen to represent his secondary school in public speaking competitions, Joel’s talent was recognized early on. It was a skill that would be honed to a sure proficiency over the next decade by numerous events in which he was asked to host or provide voice-over services for.

Into his tenth year of engaging audiences with his easy conversational style, stage presence and vocal charisma, Joel has cultivated a degree of sensitivity to a wide variety of demographics and interest groups. Whether in front of thousands of dignitaries at one of the nation’s most solemn military functions, or at more spontaneous public commercial events, Joel is versatile, eloquent and consciously does his part to ensure that the event’s objectives are met.

Joel also produces and voices commercials for MediaCorp Radio’s 938LIVE, Singapore’s only English-language news, lifestyle and current affairs radio station.

3 Sessions

3-sessions is an independent band based in Singapore that provides live music for private functions, wedding entertainment, corporate party music whatever the event calls for.

“3-sessions” was formed by Guitarist, Ervin Chong in June 2007, with the support of their fellow musician friends. All the involved musicians have acquired their reputations in their own rights to an extent and were uniquely selected into the band.

The idea to the setting of the band is to provide opportunities for his fellow musician friends to show cast their talents. The uniqueness of this setup is the focus on individual improvisational skill, which helps constantly inject new ideas into music that were performed.

The band’s music is reflected in the quality of the set, which includes songs from popular artists such as Maroon 5, 3 Doors Down, Jason Mraz and Michael Buble to U2, Guns & Roses, Eagles and Santana right back to the sixties when The Beatles ruled the airwaves. Beside that, 3-sessions is also able to play famous Jazz Standards from Frank Sinatra to Ella Fitzgerald and very much more.

Jack & Rai

Jack & Rai have been the frontmen of EIC since the band was formed in July 2002. Before their first gig as a duo at Wala Wala, they met while performing as soloists on separate nights at local bar Barcelona. A few chance meetings between 2000 and 2002 turned into ad-hoc jam sessions before an audition at Wala Wala started a new chapter in their lives and music careers.

Since then, Jack & Rai have been regularly entertaining full-house crowds with their infectious brand of cover songs from the likes of U2, Coldplay, Oasis, Jason Mraz, John Mayer and the Dave Matthews Band. Presently, they are also co-hosts in a radio show on Class 95FM, with Jean Danker, which airs every Monday and Friday from 6-7pm. In December 2006, Jack & Rai decided to take on a new challenge – to create a full album of original songs and make the transition from cover band to original artistes. Collaborating with producer and A&R consultant, Amir Masoh, they began the groundwork for ‘in stores now!’. After a full year of planning, conceptualising and recording, they are pleased to unveil their debut album comprising 11 tracks, which relate their honest stories and experiences in the free-spirited style people have come to be familiar with at their live gigs.

Quick Facts:
